Feminist baby is a genre smashing husband and wife duo from Halifax, Nova Scotia. What we mean when we say genre smashing is that these two crazy kids play every thing from Rockabilly, to Pop, even a little Jazz, with the intention of never doing the same genre twice on the same album. Variety is the spice of life after all. Both Elizabeth, and Randy Hamilton, call Nova Scotia, home. Liz calling Sydney, Cape Breton, her home, while Randy's roots are in Sipekene'katik. 

    Feminist Baby got its start when founding member Randy Hamilton had to write a song as part of an assignment whilst in school for audio engineering. At this point Randy and his wife Elizabeth had collaborated on many projects together, but generally with Liz as more of a feature, as opposed to a lead. The two decided that Randy would take a backseat on this one and only sing on the chorus, and that Liz would take front and center and sing lead. The result of Randy's songwriting and Liz's vocal performance was nothing short of an artistic bomb being dropped on the two. After finishing the song, the two decided to take the next step, and began to develop the band, and after over a year behind the curtain, “Feminist Baby”, was ready to release their first single “Control”, with much more music to come.
