Talking with the girl next door, an interview with Carrie MacInnis.
With "Hamilton House Records", having launched singles from three of their artists, and many more to come, we decided it would be nice if we were able to get to know some of them a little better. Luckily the sweet and charming "Carrie MacInnis" took the time to answer a few questions for us, and give us a little insight into her musical past, present, and future.

Lets start off by asking the most common of these questions, who are your musical influences?
I grew up in the 90s listening to ladies of country music like Shania Twain, Faith Hill, and the Dixie Chicks. My mom still has home videos of me singing and dancing to Shania Twain wearing a little denim vest. I wanted to be just like her when I was young. Then my teen years brought Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, and Carrie Underwood and I started playing guitar and singing their songs.
Though many people have not heard it yet, we know that your upcoming single, "Just a few Things", was a very important song to you. Could you please tell us a little more about it, like how you came up with it, and how you went about writing the song? Â
"Just A Few Things" is a song I wrote when I was doing my social work placement. I was doing prison in-reach at the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility when I met a young woman who shared her story with me about her life and relationship with her mother. Her story really stuck with me and I was struggling to find a way to process it, so I decided to try and write about it and it turned out to be a really nice song.
Can you tell us what it was like for you to be in the studio for the very first time, recording "Just a few Things"?

It was so strange! I didn’t know how anything worked and it was super weird to hear myself through the headphones. We had to do a lot of takes. I was really nervous! And even though there were only three of us in the studio I felt extremely vulnerable because I figured people would hear the song someday and it was the first song I ever wrote.
How does it feel to have your first single, "Save Me Again", available on all major streaming platforms?
It doesn’t feel real yet. But it’s a total dream come true. Friends have been messaging me about it and sending pictures and videos of them listening to it in their car, and I think it’s just the coolest thing. I was really worried about putting myself out there like that, but everyone has been so kind, so I feel pretty good about it. I hope people continue listening to it!

Well I would like to thank you for taking the time to chat with us, but before we sign off, one last question, what can listeners expect from Carrie MacInnis in the future?
Well I’m currently working on an album that should be released sometime next year. But in the next few months you can expect more singles being released. I am also going to be doing some more writing and work-shopping songs with my producer. I’m looking forward to getting back into writing and I’m excited to share more music with everyone.Â
And we are certainly looking forward to hearing it, thank you Carrie.
